5. Insert the new saw chain (

) into the guide rail. Ensure that
the running direction of the saw chain (

) is correct. For
this purpose, compare the chain symbol on the tool
housing with the saw chain (

).
6. Place the bar (

) onto the tension spring (

) and the fixing
screw (

). Place the saw chain (

) around the drive
sprocket (

). The saw chain (

) will tension automatically.

7. Put on the chain sprocket cover (

) and then tighten the
securing nut (

) again.

Tensioning the saw chain
Note
Before start-up, check the chain tension and adjust it,
if necessary. When you work with the pruning saw, the
chain will heat up and slightly expand in this process.
This can occur in particular with new chains.
1. Slightly loosen the securing nut (
9
). The chain cover (
10
)
remains mounted.
2. The saw chain (
7
) will tighten automatically.
3. Then tighten the securing nut (
9
) again.
4. Check the chain tension at regular intervals. If the chain
tension is correct, the saw chain (
7
) can be drawn upwards
3−5 mm.
