Installation:
Position the temperature sensor in a suitable place in the terrarium
or aquarium. Normally there are different temperature zones in
the terrarium. Therefore you need to determine which tempe-
rature you want to control with the thermostat. In most cases a
position in a temperature-neutral area (not under e.g. a heat lamp)
slightly above the ground is recommended. In an aquarium a place
with good water circulation is recommended.
Position the display device in a way that you can see and reach
the display easily. Connect the devices you want to control to
the corresponding sockets, sources of heat go into A, devices the
timer will control into B.
Plug the mains adapter into a socket that has been installed in
accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the devices to be
controlled are only switched on after the functions have been set.
Use the following instructions to make the settings.
1. Description of Operational Functions
1.1 How it works:
The thermostat operates a heat source until the chosen tempera-
ture has been reached and then switches off. It switches on again
once the temperature falls below the value determined by the
switching delay.
1.2 Day/Night Mode:
The thermostat automatically switches between day and night
time operation in relation to the time set, and uses the relevant
temperature settings. ‘ST1’ sets the time for the start of the day,
‘ST2’ sets the time for the start of the night. The time in ‘ST1’ has
to be lower than the one in ‘ST2’.
1.3 Heating/Cooling:
Under ‘ST1’ (day) and ‘ST2’ (night) the thermostat can be switched
from heating to cooling. When switched to cooling, there is a pre-set
time delay of 3 minutes in order to avoid damage caused by abrupt
switching over if compressors are in use.
In heating mode (H) a device is powered until the set temperature
has been reached and then switched off. In cooling mode a device is
powered when the pre-set temperature is exceeded and turned off
when the actual temperature is lower than the pre-set temperature.
Use this mode e.g. for ventilators or foggers.
