8 EURO-rate setting
The 11 presently known EURO conversion rates are pre-programmed in the calculator.
To activate any desired conversion rate, switch the calculator on and press
simultaneously
the
relevant country code key for approx. 5 seconds. Example: If the conversion rate for German Mark
(DEM) is required, please proceed as follows:
Press key and switch the calculator on at the same time. Keep key depressed for approx.
5 seconds. “r-02” will be displayed as a confirmation. From now on, the rate 1.95583 will be
used for all conversions into EURO or local currency. This rate will still be available after
switching the calculator off and on again.

In addition it is possible to program and memorize two extra free rates, e.g. for US $.
To program free conversion rate No. 1, please proceed as follows:
Switch the calculator on and simultaneously press key
for about 5 seconds. The symbol “r-
12” is
displayed. Then keep the [RATE] key depressed for a few seconds until “0:” is flashing in
the display, enter your desired free rate (e.g. 2.0757) and finish the programming by pressing
the [EURO] key. The free rate is stored.
Proceed in the same way to enter free rate No. 2
.
Important advise
If you fail to switch the calculator on and select a free memory using the keys
or
to enter a
free rate, one of the pre-programmed conversion rates might be overwritten.
In such case, restore all original rates as follows:
Switch the calculator on and simultaneously press the keys
and
for approx. 5 seconds.
The symbol “r-CC” is displayed to confirm this reset. Then select again a desired rate, as
described above.
