2. Press t h e SLOPE c o n t r o l in t o cancel t h e S T A R T S
AFTER D E L A Y m o d e a n d set t h e B S O U R C E t o t h e
s a m e signal as t h e A trigger source.
3. S e t H O R I Z O N T A L D I S P L A Y t o either A L T or B D L Y ' D .
The a p p a r e n t m a g n i f i c a t i o n w i l l be t h e s a m e as
described above.
If a proper B trigger signal is n o t applied, intensification
m a y n o t occur. If this happens, vary t h e signal level or
trigger w i t h a n external signal source.

1. A p p l y a signal t o I N P U T a n d set t h e V M O D E t o t h e
c h a n n e l t o be used. A d j u s t V O L T S / D I V a n d t h e other
controls if necessary t o o b t a i n a n easily observed
w a v e f o r m display.

w a v e f o r m t o be m e a s u r e d . Pull o u t t h e B SLOPE

Set H O R I Z O N T A L D I S P L A Y t o A - I N T - B a n d adjust t h e
B S W E E P T I M E / D I V for as small as possible an
intensified region.
3. U s i n g t h e • POSITION c o n t r o l adjust t h e w a v e f o r m
position so as t o intersect w i t h t h e center horizontal line
o n t h e CRT screen. U s e t h e D E L A Y T I M E M U L T I P L I E R
so t h a t t h e intensified portion o f w a v e f o r m t o u c h e s t h e
center horizontal line a n d record t h e setting o f t h e
D E L A Y T I M E M U L T I P L I E R at this point.

is 6 0 4 . The setting of A S W E E P T I M E / D I V is 2 m s .

PULSE WIDTH MEASUREMENTS USING
DELAYED SWEEP
This m e t h o d is similar t o t h e t i m e m e a s u r e m e n t m e t h o d a n d
can be used for high accuracy pulse w i d t h m e a s u r e m e n t s .
1. A p p l y t h e pulse signal t o t h e I N P U T a n d set t h e V
M O D E t o t h e channel t o be used.
2. Use t h e V O L T S / D I V , V A R I A B L E and % POSITION
controls t o adjust t h e display such t h a t t h e w a v e f o r m is
easily observable w i t h t h e center o f t h e pulse w i d t h
coinciding w i t h t h e center horizontal g r a d u a t i o n line.

t h e w a v e f o r m t o be m e a s u r e d , pulling o u t t h e B SLOPE
c o n t r o l t o set u p t h e S T A R T S AFTER D E L A Y m o d e o f
display.

B S W E E P T I M E / D I V f o r as s h o r t as possible a n
intensified section o f w a v e f o r m .
4 . U s i n g t h e D E L A Y T I M E M U L T I P L I E R , adjust t h e display
so t h a t t h e intensified p o r t i o n t o u c h e s t h e center
horizontal g r a d u a t i o n line o f t h e CRT screen and record
the dial setting a t t h i s point.
