This is t h e procedure for m a k i n g t i m e m e a s u r e m e n t s
b e t w e e n t w o points o n a w a v e f o r m . The c o m b i n a t i o n of t h e
S W E E P T I M E / D I V a n d t h e horizontal distance in divisions
b e t w e e n t h e t w o points is used in t h e calculation.
Procedure:
1. A p p l y t h e signal t o be measured t o t h e I N P U T c o n -
nector a n d set t h e V M O D E t o t h e channel t o b e used.
A d j u s t V O L T S / D I V a n d S W E E P T I M E / D I V for a n o r m a l
display.
Be sure t h a t t h e V A R I A B L E control is set t o C A L
2. Using t h e £ POSITION control set o n e o f t h e points t o
be used as a reference t o coincide w i t h t h e horizontal
centeHine.
Use t h e « • POSITION control t o set this p o i n t at t h e
intersection o f any vertical graduation line.
3. M e a s u r e t h e horizontal distance b e t w e e n t h e t w o
point^.
M u l t i p l y this by t h e setting of t h e A S W E E P T I M E / D I V
control t o o b t a i n t h e t i m e b e t w e e n t h e t w o points. If
horizontal " x 1 0 M A G " is used, multiply this further by
1 / 1 0 .

FREQUENCY MEASUREMENTS
Frequency m e a s u r e m e n t s are m a d e by m e a s u r i n g t h e period
of o n e cycle o f w a v e f o r m a n d taking t h e reciprocal o f this
t i m e value as t h e frequency.
Procedure:
1. S e t t h e oscilloscope u p t o display o n e cycle o f
w a v e f o r m (one period).
2. The frequency is t h e reciprocal o f t h e period measured.
