Unpacking Your Iron

Unpack the iron carefully. If you dispose of the packaging, do so having regard to any
recycling regulations in your area.

The packaging contains:

one Tricity Steam Iron; One filler cup

If any item is missing or damaged:

please contact the Tesco store where you purchased

the item, or your nearest Tesco store. Please have your receipt ready when you call.

Important Special Features of Your Iron

The ceramic soleplate (11) of the iron makes ironing easier. To protect the soleplate do not
use abrasives to clean the iron. Avoid running the iron over metal surfaces.

Anti-Drip system:

This prevents water escaping from the soleplate when the iron is cold.

During use, the anti drip system may emit a loud clicking  sound, particularly when heating
up or cooling down.  This is normal and indicates the system is functioning correctly.

Anti-Scale system:

The built-in anti-scale cartridge reduces the build-up of lime scale

which occurs during steam ironing and will prolong the working life of your iron.  However
the anti-scale cartridge will not completely stop the natural process of lime scale build-up
so always empty the water after use and self-clean the iron regularly (see last page).

Auto Shut-Off:

When the iron is unattended and connected to the mains supply, it

will shut off automatically after a period (See P7). The screen indicates as shown:

Ironing Temperatures

The ironing instructions are attached to the article on a label showing a symbol of an iron).
Always follow these ironing instructions. The indications on the iron’s digital LCD screen and
the Ironing Table below will help you.
If there are no ironing instructions but you know the fabric, use the table below. The table
is valid only for the actual materials and does not take account of any finish applied to the
fabric. Textiles to which a finish has been applied should be ironed at lower temperatures.
Sort fabrics to be ironed into groups according to temperature; wool with wool, cotton with

cotton, etc. Iron articles requiring low temperature settings first and progress to higher ones.
Wait for about three minutes before ironing heat sensitive fabrics. Temperature adjustment
needs certain time to reach the required level no matter it is higher or lower.

Note:

Do not iron garments that are dirty or stained. The heat may set the stain.

Iron delicate fabrics (silk, wool, velour, etc.) with an ironing cloth to prevent shine marks.

Filling the Iron

DO NOT use water containing softeners,
perfumes or additives as these may
damage the iron irreparably.
•  Ensure the iron is unplugged from the
mains. Open the water filler. Fill carefully
with fresh water using the supplied filler
cup. Do not fill the iron above the MAX
mark. If you live in a hard water area, use
distilled or de-mineralised water.
