Switch Installation
Desktop Hardware Installation
The site where you install the switch may greatly affect its performance. When
installing, consider the following pointers:
Note: Your switch model may be different than the one shown in the example
illustrations.

Install the Switch in a fairly cool and dry place.

Install the Switch in a site free from strong electromagnetic field generators (such
as motors), vibration, dust, and direct exposure to sunlight.

Leave some space on the sides of the switch for ventilation.

Install the Switch on a sturdy, level surface that can support its weight, or in an
EIA standard-size equipment rack. For information on rack installation, see the
next section, Rack Mounting.

When installing the Switch on a level surface, attach the rubber feet to the
bottom of each device. The rubber feet cushion the hub and protect the hub
case from scratching.
LED State Status
POWER
(Green) ON When the POWER LED is on, the device is powered on.
OFF When the device is not receiving power, the PWR LED is OFF.
Ports 1-5
Right LED
(Link/Act) GREEN Network speed at 1000 Mbps (Gigabit)
AMBER Network speed at 10/100 Mbps
BLINKING Data is transmitting/receiving.
OFF
Ethernet port is not connected.
Ports 1-2
Left LED
(PoE Status) GREEN PoE power provided on this port.
AMBER PoE failed. There is an error providing PoE power.
OFF No PoE power being provided.
Port 5

AMBER PoE input detected from PSE
