Instead of beginning at a
zero altitude, you can set the
absolute altitude if you have
a reliable reference such as a
peak or a topographical map.
You can also get information
about the absolute altitude
of the place you are in by
telephone from the weather
service.
Keep pressing the
“PILOT” key until the altitude
There are four options for
calibration:
Setting zero altitude
The watch can measure the
relative altitude. You can e.g.
measure the increasing or
decreasing altitude between
starting point and fi nishing
point of your hike. For this
the current altitude must be
set to “0” e.g. at the begin-
ning of the hike. The indication
“r” appears in the display.
Keep pressing the “PILOT”
key until the altitude display
“ALTI” appears. Press the
“MODE” key for 2 seconds.
The fl ashing “SET” symbol
and “ZERO” are displayed.
After pressing the “CHRO-
NO” key, “NO” is displayed.
Press the “CHRONO” key
again to select “YES”.
“DONE” is displayed and
the watch returns to
altimeter mode.
