LPT (Link Pass Through) Applications
The Converter model of LPT (link pass through) in TX/FX converter application is
controlled by the software and instantly take effect. Link status on one port is
propagated to the other port to notice the remote nodes. If the TP port is unplugged,
this converter stops transmission on fiber port. This causes the remote fiber node
link to fail. LED shows the link failure on both TP and fiber ports. If the fiber link
fails, this converter restarts auto-negotiation on TP port but always stays in the link
failure state. This causes the remote TP node link to fail. The LED also shows the
link failure on both the TP and fiber ports. See Fig. 4-1 and 4-4 below for the
normal status when the link succeeds. See Fig. 4-2 thru Fig.4-6 for the error status
when TP Cable A, Fiber Cable B, or Fiber Cable C fails to connect.
Note
: The Link through (LPT) function only takes effect with the LPT DIP switch in
the ‘Enable’ position.
The SGPAT10xx-100 can support the following two LPT typical applications:
1. Converter to Converter in pairs
