2. Use/Placement
The Transatlantic Rollboard Classic and Rollboard Mini are ide-
ally suited for atraumatic, painless and low-friction transfer
of seated and recumbent, e.g. heavy, particularly helpless or
premedicated patients to a different bed, a trolley, an x-ray,
examination, an operation table or a mobile shower trolley.
Transfer is also possible over a short distance or over different
heights. The Transatlantic Rollboard Classic or Rollboard Mini
allow a support for the transfer of patients with many drainag-
es or with problems such as respiratory distress syndrome. For
safety reasons, transfer with the Transatlantic Rollboard Classic
or Rollboard Mini should be done with two persons and if ap-
plicable with a sheet for pulling the patient.

All brakes have to be tightened fully!

Ensure the working heights of the transfer levels are correct
for a working without back injury.

The Transatlantic Rollboard Classic and Rollboard Mini must
not be pulled on the loops!
Move the patient in a recumbent position slightly to the side
and slide the Transatlantic Rollboard Classic or Rollboard Mini
about 1/5 of the way under the patient. Place the patient
in a supine position on the Transatlantic Rollboard Classic or
Rollboard Mini. Stand next to the transfer level and push the
patient with the shoulder and hip on the Transatlantic Roll-
board Classic or Rollboard Mini into the tranfer unit. To remove
the Transatlantic Rollboard Classic or Rollboard Mini place the
patient briefly on the side and remove the Transatlantic Roll-
board Classic or Rollboard Mini from under the patient. Always
be aware of your back when working as a carer.
This product is suitable for re-use.
3. Cleaning, Care and Disinfection
The Transatlantic Rollboard Classic and Rollboard Mini can be
cleaned with medical disinfectants. Do not use any abrasive or
bleaching agents and sharp objects. For the use in hygienically
critical areas, please use the disposable protective foil (Item-
No. 4500120).
Option:
The Transatlantic Rollboard Classic and Rollboard Mini can also
be used with the Transa disposable sliding foil. The Transa dis-
posable sliding foil is supplied in 100 metre rolls (item No.
4400200 or 4400203 in dispenser box with cutter). Cut off the
appropriate length of Transa sliding foil from the roll. Pull the
sliding foil over the Transatlantic Rollboard Classic or Rollboard
Mini. With its outstanding sliding properties the Transa dispos-
able sliding foil used with the Transatlantic Rollboard Classic or
Rollboard Mini makes the most difficult transfers easy.
IMPORTANT NOTE:

When using the Transatlantic Rollboard Classic or Rollboard
Mini with the Transa disposable sliding foil (the sliding foil
is disposable and not washable) please note the special in-
structions of the Transa disposable sliding foil.
4. Warranty
The warranty is valid for a period of 3 years. It does not cover
any defects which are due to improper use. Transatlantic can-
not be liable for any accidental or indirect injury or damage.
5. Visual and Function Inspection/
Safety Information
Repositioning products are also subject to natural again. Check
the equipment regularly and carefully to make sure it is work-
ing properly. Make sure that the product is in good condition
and that the material and seams are not damaged.

Defect products must no longer be used.

Make sure that there are sufficient number of carers and as-
sistants corresponding to the transfer situtation.

Never leave the patient unattended.

The smooth surface considerably minimises resistance to
friction during the change of position. Carefully check the
two transfer surfaces, making sure they are stable and
brakes are applied (bed, strechter).

The distance between free transfer surface using the Trans-
atlantic Rollboard Classic or Rollboard Mini must not be more
than 15 cm.

Make sure that carers are always aware of their backs dur-
ing the transfer.

Do not use sharp-edged items when using the Transatlan-
tic Rollboard Classic or Rollboard Mini. The both Rollboards
could get damaged in this case.

Transfer under uncovered skin must be done with a cloth
between the Transatlantic Rollboard Classic or Rollboard Mini
and the patient (e.g. towel).
6. Product Labeling
The Transatlantic Rollboard Classic and Rollboard Mini are med-
ical products, class I and they are complies with MDD directive
93/42/EEC. Transatlantic is certified in according with directive
DIN EN ISO 13485 and DIN EN ISO 9001.
