 DANGER

• The lid must always remain open while lighting the grill.
• Wait at least five minutes for the gas to dissipate if the burner does not ignite.
• If the burner’s flame suddenly goes out, switch the grill off and turn off the gas

supply.
• Clean the inside of the grill, the drip tray and the grease cup before each use.

Excess grease and residue inside the grill can cause a fire and property damage.
• When using the grill for a long time, clean the drip tray, the grease cup and the

flame tamers every 3 hours.
• If a problem with the ignition system persists, contact technical support, an

authorized representative or Tramontina’s customer service.
• Failure to comply with these warnings and precautionary measures could result

in a fire or an explosion causing damage to property, serious bodily injury, or even

death.

8.1. “BRIDGE” IGNITION BETWEEN INTERNAL BURNERS

The TGP-60000 gas grill has a “Bridge” system (figure 38), which enables you to

light one internal burner that is adjacent to a lit burner simply by opening the gas

using the control knob.

Exemple:

If internal burner A is lit, burner B can be lit simply by opening the gas using the

control knob.
Burner C can also be lit by the same “Bridge” system if burner B or D is lit and

burner D can be lit if burner C is lit.

 WARNING

• Burner A cannot light burners C and D and vice versa.
• Burner B cannot light burner D.

 WARNING

• If a burner doesn’t light, it can be lit with a match. (Please refer to “Lighting the

Burner with a Match”.)
• Before doing that, check if the burner is dry, if the openings are obstructed, if there

is a problem with the gas supply, if the gas tank valve is closed, if there are any leaks

in the system, or if the gas tank gas using is empty. Any of these conditions can

compromise your grill’s performance.

8.2. LIGHTING THE BURNER WITH A MATCH

1) Open the lid of the burner you wish to use.
2) Make sure that the control knobs are set to “OFF”. If they’re not, turn the knobs

clockwise until the “OFF” position is aligned with the indicator arrows.
3) Remove the grate and/or the cast iron griddle, according to the burner you need

to light.
4) Attach the match to the match holder (figure 39).

Figure 39

(The match holder is included with the instructions Manual).

5) Carefully light the match.
6) Hold the match close to the burner openings, while pressing and turning the

control knob counterclockwise until the indicator on the knob is aligned with the

“MAX” position. (figure 40).

7) If the burner does not ignite, go back to “Lighting the burner with a match” (Step

2) until you can see a flame in the burner.

 DANGER

• If the burner does not ignite after consecutive attempts, switch the grill off as

instructed below. Wait five minutes for the gas to dissipate before trying again.

• If it still does not ignite, please refer to “Troubleshooting”.

8) After lighting the desired burners, carefully put the grill grate and/or cast iron

griddle back in place.

9) In the case of internal burners, close the lid and leave the grates and griddle to

preheat at maximum power for about ten minutes.

10) Store the match holder together with the Manual in a safe place, away from the

reach of children and animals.

11) After the grill is preheated, turn the control knobs to adjust the flame as desired

for each burner. This will save gas.

12) After use, turn the control knob clockwise until the indicator on the knob is

aligned with the “OFF” position.

13) Cut the gas supply after using.
