21.  Connect the trailer patch 12-way connector to the ECU. 

 

22.  Apply double sided tape to the ECU and secure it to the vehicle sheet metal.  

 

 Note: Ensure when mounting ECU, connector is orientated downwards. 

 

23.  For reverse connection, route the trailer patch black/ white wire branch towards the D- 

pillar. Locate the harness that runs towards the vehicle tailgate and remove covering. 
 

24.  Following the table below, connect the ezy-tap to the mating harness wire. Then 

connect the trailer patch wire to the ezy-tap.  

 

            

 

 

25.  Tie up patch harness using the supplied Cable Ties to prevent the patch getting 

caught in the seatbelt. 

 

26.  With the rear bumper removed, locate the vehicle blanking grommet.  

 

27.  Remove the blanking grommet and route tail harness (tail length 1200mm) up through 

grommet hole.  

 

28.  Seat tail harness grommet in 30mm hole and route to trailer harness blue connector 

on wiring loom.  

 

29.  Connect the tail harness 8-way connector to the trailer patch mating 8-way connector.  

 

Note: Keep harness routing clear of all sharp edges, moving parts and places of extreme heat.  

 

30.  Reinstall LHS trim. 

 

31.  Remove vehicle storage cover.  

 

32.  Remove rear fuse cover.  

 

33.  Pick up the orange power wire routed the small rear fuse box earlier.  

 

34.  Insert the suppled 20Amp fuses into the add-a-fuse and then insert the add-a-fuse 

into the blank fuse location. 

 

35.  Connect the 1-way connector on the add-a-fuse, to the 1-way connector on the patch 

harness.  

Note: To maintain correct electrical operation, ensure you insert the add-a-fuse 
fuse into the allocated slot.   

 

 

36.  Secure tail harness to towbar.  
 
37.  Test the trailer patch function using a light board or multi-meter.
