7. Storage
7.1 Storage Safety
At the end of the season, the offset mower should
be thoroughly inspected and prepared for storage.
Repair or replace any worn or damaged components to
prevent any unnecessary downtime at the beginning of
the next season.
CAUTION
Personal Injury Hazard
Store the offset mower in an area away from
human activity. To prevent the possibility of
serious injury, do not permit children to play on or
around the stored offset mower.
Crush Hazard
Always set the offset mower on safety stands
or on blocks for storage.
NOTICE
To prevent damage to the offset mower, store it in a dry,
level area.
7.2 Placing In Storage
1. Remove all entangled vegetation.
2. Thoroughly wash the offset mower with a pressure
washer or water hose to remove all clippings, dirt,
mud, or debris.
3. Select an area that is dry, level, and free of debris
(inside a building is ideal). Move the offset mower
to its storage area.
4. Lubricate all grease points. Make sure all grease
cavities have been filled with grease to remove any
water residue from washing.
5. Touch up all paint nicks and scratches to prevent
rusting.
7.3 Removing From Storage
When removing the offset mower from storage, follow
this procedure:
1. Attach the offset mower to the tractor lift arms.
2. Raise the offset mower up off the blocks.
3. Before placing the offset mower back into service,
replace any worn or defective parts and perform the
Pre-Operation Checklist.
