CONTROLS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS
FRONT PANEL
Input Selector:
The four positions “Inputs” switch is used to select one of the four available line-level inputs,
marked RCA1 through RCA4.
Volume control:
regulates maximum outputs on the speaker terminals outputs.
The front panel also has the power on light and window for the remote control receiver.
TOP PANEL
The top panel of the Premise Evolution hosts two switches marked (Triode - UL). The switches are used to change
the mode operation between Triode and Ultralinear. It is important to change the mode when the amplifier has
been turned off for at least 30 seconds. Changing the mode of operation while the amplifier is working may cause
damage to the output circuit.
LEFT SIDE OF THE UNIT
Power ON/OFF switch: The switch turns the amplifier ON and OFF
When turning on the amplifier, make sure that the volume control is at its minimum. The amplifier will be fully
functional after only 30 seconds. However, as it warms up over the first 15 minutes of operation, you may notice
subtle improvements in the sound quality.
At the end of your listening session, make sure to turn the amplifier off. Leaving it turned on does not improve
sound quality and it reduces life of the vacuum tubes.
The amplifier should always be turned on and off via its own power switch.
Standby switch: engaging this switch( position 0 ) the Premise Evolution enters the standby mode. In this mode
high voltage is removed from the vacuum tubes thus reducing power dissipation and extending tube life. This
switch can be also engaged prior to turning the amplifier on, to reduce tube stress; it can also be used during
periods when the amplifier is not used, but it needs to be ready to perform at it’s peak in a short time: when the
unit exits standby mode (switch in position 1)the amplifier is fully functional in seconds.
