1. PRESENTATION AND DESCRIPTION
OF THE EQUIPMENT
The Pioneer
™
LID
is a manually operated
hydraulic cylinder weighing truck (with load
indicator). This truck is equipped with a load
indicating device.
2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Weighing truck (with charge indicator) movement
in an upwards direction is achieved by using
a control lever. Downward movement is achieved
by using the handle on the lever. This handle
has three positions:
• Low position: lifting the load,
• Intermediate position: movement of the weighing
truck (with charge indicator),
• High position: lowering the load.
The lifting and lowering operation can be stopped
in any position of the lever or handle without the
load undergoing any uncontrolled movements.
This truck is equipped with a device that indicates
the load being lifted. Use the procedure described
in section 7.3. Load indicator accuracy is ± 10%
in relation to the real load
The weighing truck cylinder (with load indicator)
works with MXL-32, BDS 14470-82 or HLP
ISO VG 32-46 hydraulic oil. The cylinder oil
capacity is 0.50 litres.
3. PROHIBITED OPERATIONS
a) Never exceed the working load limit marked on
maker's plate.
b) Never work under a load lifted by the truck.
c) Never collide or allow violent impacts to the
load lifted by the truck.
d) Never lift a load with the truck on a slope.
e) Never use the truck if the ground is not
solid enough to bear the load. If necessary,
you must consolidate support by positioning
the truck on a plate (preferably sheet metal).
Any set up requiring such interventions must
be checked by a qualified technician.
f) Never use the truck to lift loads that could
deform or where the component parts are not
securely fastened together.
g) Never use a badly corroded truck or one with
obvious deformities.
h) Never leave the lifted load unattended.
i) During raising or lowering operations, never
stand where a load could possibly fall.
4. CHECKS BEFORE USE
a) Ensure that the load to be lifted and moved
does not exceed the truck's work load limit.
b) Check that no part of the truck is corroded,
bent or broken. Remove any truck showing
such defects.
c) Unloaded, check that the control lever moves
fluidly and without sticking points.
d) Check that the descent control handle moves
fluidly and without sticking points. This handle
works with a spring return. Check correct
operation before use.
e) Centre the load on the two forks to distribute
the weight.
5. MAINTENANCE
At least once per year, have the condition
of the truck and its mechanical part checked by a
TRACTEL
®
approved service centre. Checking
should be carried out more often with heavy
use or when used in particularly dusty or
chemically aggressive atmospheres. If in doubt of
the state of condition and efficiency of the device,
contact your dealer or a TRACTEL
®
approved
service centre
.
6. REGULATORY CHECKS
Any company entrusting a Pioneer
™
LID
to
paid staff or equivalent must apply the labour
regulations regarding safety.
In France, these devices must, in this case, receive
an initial inspection before commissioning and
periodic checks (decree of 1
st
March 2004).
7. MARKING
7.1) Manufacturer's plate
A manufacturer's plate is attached to each unit
(Fig. 1) and includes the following information:
- No.1: type of device
- No. 2: Working Load Limit in kg
- No. 3: Serial No.
- No. 4: Year of manufacture
- No. 5: EC marking
- No. 6: Manufacturer's contact details
