7. Rescue
8.1 Authorized use
The anchorage system complies with the state of the art and also complies with the safety regulations applicable
when it was launched onto the market in the scope of its authorized use.
The design can prevent neither predictable misuse nor the residual dangers without restricting the authorized
functionality.
Information about potential dangers is provided via special warning notices either directly on the anchorage system
and / or in the technical documentation.
The anchorage system must be operated according to the speci
fi
cations in the technical documentation.
Any non-authorized use or activities on the anchorage system not described in this manual are prohibited misuse
outside the statutory limits for liability of TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH.
8.2 Predictable misuse or handling
Your safety is guaranteed if the anchorage system is used according to the speci
fi
cations in the technical
documentation. Any unauthorized use endangers your safety and must be avoided in all cases.
•
Never anchor more than three persons on the anchorage system at the same time and always maintain
the minimum clearance to the impact area.
•
Never use another anchorage device or similar element on the guide rail other than the original FABA
TM
anchorage device W3.
•
Never test the anchorage system by having it fall on purpose.
• Never attempt to forcefully pull the anchorage device over an obstacle in the guide rail.
•
Never use an anchorage system for which the last inspection was more than 12 months ago (date of the
last inspection).
• Never attach anything other than PPE against falls to the anchorage device
• Never use the anchorage system prior to training or when ill
• Never use vertically
• Never use in inclinations
• Never use without having clearance under the system
• Never use the anchorage system if you are pregnant
•
Never use an anchorage system if the labelling is not
fi
tted or is illegible.
• Never use PPE against falls that is not approved according to the EEC guideline 89/686/CE
• Never use the anchorage system if there is no rescue or emergency plan available
•
Never use the anchorage system outside the permissible temperature ranges (-30°C and +60°C)
A rescue plan must always be drawn up before starting work. The rescue plan, which must be tailored with regard
to the respective working situation, must list the measures and the apparatus that will be used to ensure that, in
the event of an accident, the person is rescued within 15 minutes. The person's life will be endangered if rescue
operations last longer than this.

During transport and storage of the anchorage system, ensure that none of the components are damaged.
Damaged parts may only be replaced with new original parts.
The anchorage system must be checked every 24 months by means of an inspection book.
In event of faults during operation or falls, this inspection must be carried out before reusing the system. Damaged
parts may only be replaced with original parts.
