De-scaling Your Brewer
Depending on the quality of your water supply, calcium and scale may build up inside the brewer. Scale is non-toxic but build up of scale can hinder brewer
performance. We recommend de-scaling the brewer every 3-6 months depending on the brewer usage. Follow these instructions for de-scaling:
ITEMS NEEDED:
large ceramic mug (do not use a paper cup), fresh water, 58 oz. of vinegar, and access to a sink.
STEP 1: DE-SCALING SOLUTION RINSE
1. Turn the brewer OFF and empty the Water Tank.
2. Pour 58 oz. of white vinegar into the Water Tank. (Fig. 26) Turn ON the Brewer.
3. Place a large mug on the Drip Tray and run a brewing cycle by pressing on the 14 oz Button. Do not use a Pod. (Fig. 27) Throw away the vinegar in the
mug into the sink. (Fig. 28)
4. Repeat the same 14 oz brewing cycle process 2 more times. Let the brewer stand for at least 3 hours.
5. Throw away remaining vinegar in the Water Tank. Rinse the water tank thoroughly.
