Preventing damage from freezing and
measures for long-term disuse
Preparation for freezing conditions
Keep the toilet warm, so that the temperature stays above freezing. If this is not possible, drain the water.
If you worry that the water might freeze, follow these procedures to prevent damage to the Washlet.
If the Washlet freezes, it might suffer damage and water leaks could occur.
Draining the water

Close the stop valve and stop the
cold water supply.

Drain the water from the Washlet
pipes.
(1) Press the
button on the Washlet main operation
unit to make the wand come out.
(Pressure is released from the water supply pipe.)
(2) Press the
button again.
(3) Use a at-blade screwdriver to loosen the drain
valve with lter and then pull it out.
CAUTION
Prohibited
Do not detach the drain valve with lter
while the water stop valve is still open.
Doing so will cause water to spill.

Preparation for freezing conditions
Do not use the Energy Saver functions. The Washlet could be damaged if the water freezes when
the heaters are turned off.
See “When not using the Timer-based Energy Saver” on page 18 for how to turn off the Energy
Saver features.
