VIDEO
160GB Hard Disc Drive (HDD)
- This drive, similar to what is used in a
personal computer, can store recorded broadcast programming and
dubbed content. The RD-XS35 will allow high-speed dubbing from the
HDD to a DVD-RAM, DVD-R or DVD-RW without any deterioration of the
digital MPEG-2 signal and provides instant access to recorded programs.
So forget about searching for blank videotape when you want to record,
simply hit RECORD and let the HDD do all the work.
Multi-Drive Recorder
- Toshiba Multi-Drive DVD recorders are multi-
format DVD recorders designed to provide the greatest flexibility in
recording and playback by supporting DVD-RAM, DVD-R, and DVD-RW*
recordable disc formats. The right format for every application:
Digital Cinema Progressive (3:2 Pulldown)
- Delivers the smoothest,
most film-like images to any progressive scan television, such as an
HD-compatible one, and ensures maximum resolution.
Auto Title/Chapter/Thumbnail Creation
- Recorded content remains
easy to find with the help of a menu that will be automatically created
when you record. It displays the date and channel you recorded, along
with a thumbnail of your recording by capturing the first video frame of
the recording. The date and channel can be change to any 64-character
title and the thumbnails to any image within the recording. Chapters with-
in the recording can also be created by either predetermined intervals, or
by the user selecting specific points within the recording. These chapters
can also be named and assigned a specific thumbnail from any video
frame within the chapter.
AUDIO
WMA & MP3 Playback
- Recordable Compact Discs (CD-R & CD-RW)
with music stored in either the Windows Media™ Audio or MP3 file
formats can be enjoyed.
CONVENIENCE
EASY NAVI Menu
- An entry menu portal that provides quick and easy
access to key features of the DVD recorder, such as Timer Recording or
DV Capture. Additionally the EASY navi displays a "live action window,"
providing feedback to the user on the current status of the recorder,
whether it is recording a program, in the Time Slip mode, or playing back
content with DVD-RAM or HDD.
TV Guide On Screen
TM
- This Interactive Program Guide provides an
easy to read listing of the television programs available to view or record.
The version incorporated in the RD-XS35 provides: an 8-day program
listing, flexibility of recording directly to DVD or the HDD, the ability to
perform keyword searches for locating favorite programs and includes the
G-Link IR Blaster for controlling cable boxes. When recording television
programs, the name of the show, along with the channel and date, are
automatically captured.
Satellite Programming and STB IR
allow, via supplied IR blaster, channel
control of DBS satellite boxes for manual timer programming.
Front Panel A/V & IEEE 1394 DV Inputs
- There are composite audio &
video inputs, as well as RCA L/R inputs on the front panel of the unit for
easy camcorder dubbing. Additionally, an IEEE 1394 Firewire
®
jack is
also available on the front panel for interfacing compatible digital video
camcorders. Provides automatic recognition of the device and
on-screen menu controls to easily direct the "downloading" process
with the recorders remote control.
