(TPI) to COM1 Port
The iES32’s COM1 port is built as an RJ25C connector (see pinout at right) to eliminate the need
for adapters. The serial port is used for TPI or maintenance/troubleshooting. See cabling diagram
below
All iES32 systems include equipment to more easily connect it to a Strata CTX for the proprietary
integration. Keeping in mind that it takes a network connection and a serial port connection to
facilitate this integration, the equipment that is shipped with each iES32 system includes:

Two 14-foot LAN cables – one cable is configured for a direct connection between iES32 and
the Strata CTX (peer-to-peer), one cable is wired for a connection between iES32 and a
network hub.

One 15-foot six conductor modular phone cable
•
One six-conductor RJ11 type connector (RJ25C)
The six-conductor phone cable enables a direct connection between the serial port outputs of the
Strata CTX and iES32.
Step 7: Restart Strata CTX and Verify
Stratagy iES32 is Functioning Properly
Note
Each iES32 has been preprogrammed at the factory for out-of-box operation on the
Strata CTX. This includes the integration and configuration parameters, and company
greeting and instructions.

Turn on the main power switch to the Strata CTX system. Let it proceed without any action
from you. The Power LED should turn green when the system is operational.
Step 8: Verify System’s Basic Functions

Dial the extension number for each port. iES32 should (for each port) answer and play the
default company greeting (“Thank you for calling…”), greeting 1 in User Agent mailbox 990.
