NETPANEL
FUNCTION
The standard user has limited NetPanel functionality, although the Administrator can operate all
functions in NetPanel.
NetPanel for a standard user:
●
View the status, configuration, and capabilities of network printers.
●
Quickly find the devices to be used. Users can search for printers based on criteria set by the
Administrator.
●
View the groups of printers the system administrator has setup, as well as watch the status of
the printers.
NetPanel for Administrators:
●
Remotely configure, and diagnose printers.
●
Create printer groups, which allows for easier printer management.
●
Manage groups of printers from a remote location, which provides you and your users with
greater flexibility.
●
Use the discover function to quickly find the printers to be used. You can search for printers
based on certain criteria, such as Pages Per Minute (PPM), Status, Location, Description, etc.
●
Server management of network printer resources, enables you to install, remove, and configure
network printers shared through the server.
For the functions that can be operated by the standard users and the Administrators, refer to
“OPERATING FLOW” in this chapter.
SUPPLEMENT:
Generally this applies to all operating systems that satisfy the requirements above.
However, the pages may not be correctly displayed depending on the version or type of
the Web browser and the Operating System.
Required Environments
NetPanel can be used in the following environments:

WWW browser
: Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later, or Internet Explorer 3.0 or later.
The WWW browser should be installed separately.
●
Protocol
: TCP/IP
Make sure that your computer can connect to the NetPanel server
using the TCP/IP protocol.
