Getting to Know the Windows ® XP Media Center Edition

Install batteries in the Windows Media Center remote 
control.

Connecting the TV Signal Source

Connect the signal source for your TV using a TV (IN) 
coaxial connector as follows:

1

Plug the connector of a coaxial cable from your TV cable 
(wall or set-top box) into the coaxial connector on the 
external TV tuner on the computer, and carefully tighten 
it. 

Location of the coaxial connector

Turn on the TV and select the TV IN video source (refer 
to your TV set reference manual as necessary).

Select the signal source for TV in the Media Center 
program settings (refer to 

“Changing the Media Center 

Settings” on page 186
