Adjusting the picture
Selecting the picture mode
You can select your desired picture type from four picture modes:
Sports, Standard, Movie, and Preference.
*(see “Saving your new preference” on page 49)
To select the picture mode:
1. Press MENU, and then press
x
or

until the PICTURE menu
appears.
2. Press
z
or
y
to highlight
MODE, and then
press ENTER.
3. Press
z
or
y
to select the
mode you prefer,
then press ENTER.
Adjusting the back lighting feature
If your TV is in a bright room, the screen image may be difficult to
see. You can use the BACK LIGHTING feature to adjust the screen
brightness for improved picture clarity.
To adjust the back lighting:
1. Press MENU, and then press
x

until the PICTURE menu
appears.
2. Press

y
to highlight PICTURE SETTINGS, then press
ENTER.
PICTURE SETTINGS menu appears.
3. Press

Note:
If you select one of the factory-set picture
modes (SPORTS, STANDARDS, or MOVIE)
and then change a picture quality setting (for
example, increase the contrast), the picture
mode automatically changes to
PREFERENCE in the Picture menu.
To save your new picture quality settings, you
must select SAVE (see “Saving your new
preference” on page 49) before closing the
Picture menu or the TV will return to the
previous picture mode.

the back light on this TV has a limited life.
When areas on the screen darken, flicker, or
no longer light up, the lamp may be at the
end of its life.
