For EFI machines: Move the choke control to

position. On a warm engine,
leave the choke in the OPEN/OFF position.

Turn the key to the S
TART
position (
When the engine starts, release the key.
Important:
Do not engage starter for more
than 5 seconds at a time. If the engine fails
to start, wait 15 seconds between attempts.
Failure to follow these instructions can burn
out the starter motor.
Note:
You may need multiple attempts to start
the engine the first time after adding fuel to an
empty fuel system.

If the choke is in the C
LOSED
/O
N
position,
gradually return choke to the O
PEN
/O
FF
position
as the engine warms up.
Shutting Off the Engine
CAUTION
Children or bystanders may be injured if they
move or attempt to operate the machine while
it is unattended.
Always remove the key and engage the
parking brake when leaving the machine
unattended.
1.
Disengage the PTO.
2.
Move the speed-control lever to the NEUTRAL
position.
3.
Engage the parking brake.
4.
Place the throttle in the middle position.
5.
Let the engine idle for 15 seconds, then turn
the key switch to the OFF position and remove
the key.
