Note:
The groomer idler assembly is located on the same side of the cutting
unit as the cutting unit hydraulic motor.
Removing the Idler Assembly
1. Park the machine on a clean and level surface, lower the cutting units
completely to the ground, shut off the engine, set the parking brake, and
remove the key from the key switch.
2. Remove the hydraulic reel motor from the cutting unit; refer to
Hydraulic Reel Motor (page 9–17)

3. Remove the groomer reel assembly; refer to
(page 11–13)
.
4. Remove the cotter pin and clevis pin from the height adjustment rod at the
front of the idler arm. Discard the cotter pin.
5. Remove the 2 socket-head screws (item 1 in
) that secure the
pivot hub to the cutting unit, and remove the pivot hub and idler assembly
from the cutting unit.
6. Inspect the shields, bearing, and bushing in the idler assembly. Remove and
discard the components that are worn or damaged.
