Adjusting the Deck Lift Spring
Note:
Adjusting the deck lift spring will alter how much the
deck will float and how much effort it takes to lift the deck
when using the height-of-cut handle.
1.
Raise the deck lift lever and lock into the transport
position.
2.
Check the length between the spring nut and the
bottom of the welded U-bracket (Figure 94). Nominal
length is between 1.84 to 1.96 inches (47.0 to 50.0 mm)
for 48 and 52 inch mower decks and between 1.69 to
1.81 inches (43.0 to 46.0 cm) for 60 inch mower decks
(Figure 94).
