Servicing the Air Filter
Service Interval: Yearly
1. Unclip the top of the air-filter cover ( Figure 25 ).

2. Remove the air filter ( Figure 25 ).
3. Inspect the air filter.
Note:
If the air filter is excessively dirty, replace it with
a new filter. Otherwise, gently tap the air filter on a
hard surface to loosen debris.
4. Install the air filter.
5. Use the clip to install the air-filter cover.
Changing the Engine Oil
Changing the engine oil is not required, but if you desire
to change the oil, use the following procedure.
Note:
Run the engine a few minutes before changing the
oil to warm it. Warm oil flows better and carries more
contaminants.
Engine oil capacity: 0.47 L (16 oz)
Oil viscosity: SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 detergent oil
API service classification: SJ or higher
1. Move the machine to a level surface.
2. Refer to Preparing for Maintenance (page 16) .
3. Remove the dipstick by rotating the cap
counterclockwise and pulling it out (
Figure 26 ).

4. Tip the machine onto its side (so that the air filter is
up) to drain the used oil from the oil-fill tube (
Figure
27 ) or set the machine in the vertical-stow position
( Figure 28 ).
