Examine the cutting disc assembly whenever you
adjust the cutting height. If the cutting disc assembly
is damaged, replace it immediately.

Remove the cutting disk; refer to

Cutting Disk (page 15)

.

2.

Change the position of the spacers to adjust the
cutting height as shown in (

Figure 27

).

Note:

Each spacer changes the cutting height

Removing the Cutting Disk

Examine the cutting disc assembly whenever you
remove the cutting disk. If the cutting disc assembly is
damaged, replace it immediately.

Close the fuel-shutoff valve; refer to

Fuel-Shutoff

Valve (page 10)

.

2.

Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.

3.

Tip the machine on its side, with the dipstick
down.

Important:

Always tip the machine onto its

side with the dipstick aligned down. If the
machine is tipped in another direction, oil
may fill the valve train—requiring at least 30
minutes to drain.

Use the wrench provided with the machine
to remove the cutting disc by turning the bolt
counterclockwise (

Figure 29

), saving all the

mounting hardware.

Important:

Wear safety glasses and cut

resistant gloves when removing the cutting
disc.

Installing the Cutting Disk

Important:

You will need a torque wrench to

install the cutting disc assembly properly

. If you

do not have a torque wrench or are uncomfortable
performing this procedure, contact an Authorized
Service Dealer or authorized Toro distributor.

Assemble the retainer, cutting disc, spacers,
and conical spacer to the impeller with the bolt
(

Figure 30

).

Important:

Always assemble the conical

spacer directly below the impeller and the
retainer under the head of the bolt.
