Starting the Engine
1. Open the fuel tank vent by turning the vent knob at
least 2 or 3 turns counterclockwise.
2. Turn the fuel valve to the O
N
position ( Figure 12 ).

3. Place your foot on the deck and tilt the machine toward
you (
Figure 13 ).

4. Pull the recoil-start handle.
Note:
Do not allow the starter grip to snap back
against the engine. Return it gently to prevent damage
to the starter.
Note:
If the machine does not start after several attempts,
contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
Adjusting the Handle Position
Refer to Figure 14 for the different handle positions.
