When loaded onto a transport vehicle, the unit must be secured by
straps or ropes to prevent movement during transit.
Brush head (1) must always be in the raised position, otherwise the
brushes could become deformed. This would result in the brushes
running out-of-true, and to subsequent destruction of the bearings.
While the unit is being transported, it is recommended that the disc
brushes (29) are removed from the brush head (1) (applies only to BD
700 BAT).
Transporting the Unit
The unit is supplied together with a sample package of detergent.
Detergents can be obtained from your local dealer, quoting the appropriate
part number.
•
Use only those detergents that contain neither solvents, hydrochloric
acid nor hydrofluoric acid.
•
Do not use cleaning agents that generate large amounts of foam, as they
could cause damage to the suction turbine or other components.

Push the disc brush onto the drive pin, and snap into position by turning
slightly to left or right.
Replacing the disc

Unscrew the bolts and remove the side bearing cover (a suitable hex
socket wrench is located in the upper part of the brush head).
Pull the brush drums out sideways.
Mount the new brush drums, while turning them slightly so that they fit
easily onto the drive pin.
Replace the bearings cover, and tighten the bolts.

Maintenance
agreement
A maintenance agreement can be concluded with the responsible
KÄRCHER Sales Office.
Replace the squeegee
blades
In the course of time the squeegee blades of the suction bar become
worn and must then be replaced:
– Undo star knobs in order that the deflector rollers and the squeegee
blades can be removed.
– Fit the new squeegee blades and tighten up the star knobs again.
