5 Charging the Battery
When the battery charge is low, the device will emit an audible beep. You should plug in your T-Series device and recharge the
battery immediately. If you are unable to plug in and recharge the battery, the device will shut down when the battery has com-
pletely lost charge. Save any open changes in your software before device shut down, as unsaved changes will be lost if the de-
vice must shut down due to loss of power.
1. Plug the charger supplied with your T-Series device into a wall outlet.
2. Connect the charger to the charger port on the T-Series device.
The charging indicator will glow amber while your T-Series device is charging. It will turn blue when it is fully charged.
3. After your T-Series device is fully charged, disconnect the charger.
You can’t overcharge the battery. It is fine to charge the battery overnight.
You can use the T-Series device while the battery is charging.
The low battery alarm indicates approximately 20 to 60 minutes of operating time remaining, depending on battery age and sys-
tem use.
The battery icon in the status bar displays the approximate charge remaining on the battery.
A battery charge lasts for a minimum of 8 hours of continuous use or 20 hours on standby.

Because of internal chemical reactions, battery performance may deteriorate over time. In addition, failure to keep the
conditions of use (charge, discharge, ambient temperature, etc.) within specified ranges may shorten the battery life
expectancy, or damage your T-Series device. If the battery cannot maintain a charge for long periods of time, even
when it is charged correctly, it may need to be replaced.
The battery needs to be replaced every 12 to 18 months with typical use.
For safe and proper operation of your T-Series device, use only chargers, batteries, and accessories that have been
approved by Tobii Dynavox.
5.1 Prolonging the T-Series Battery Life — Do’s and Don’ts
● Do use the battery. It is good to allow the device to run on the battery until the first low battery warning, which will hap-
pen at about 14% remaining battery charge. When you hear the low battery warning, plug in the device and allow it to
charge to 100%. You can continue working with the device or shut it down while it is charging.
● Do let the device charge until the battery power indicator light turns blue. Complete discharge to full charge cycles keep
the device running the longest possible time on battery power.
● Don’t run the device continually on the charger. If you use a mobile power supply with your device, then you should un-
plug the power supply from the device every few days and allow the battery to exercise.
● Don’t store the device for prolonged periods of time without use/recharge. If you must store the device, the battery
should be fully charged and the device powered off (not in sleep mode). We recommend never storing the device for
more than 3 months. After 3 months of storage the battery will need to be completely cycled and charged until the bat-
tery indicator light turns blue.
● Don’t try to replace the battery yourself. The battery is internal and is not intended for service or replacement by the user
or anyone other than a Tobii Dynavox technician.
