9. Turn
the
Slow Release Nut
clockwise until it is tight
against the bottom jaw.

10. Place a lock-out/tag-out through the holes in the
Tool Link
to prevent accidental release of the tool
during service operations.

11. When it is safe to remove the tool from the pipe,
disengage the
Safety Locking Bar
, move the
Quick
Release Pin
from the hole marked “LOCK“ to the
hole marked “UNLOCK“ and remove any lock-out/
tag-out devices. Open the handles slowly until you
feel the tool go back over center.
12. To control the rate of release, turn the
Slow Release
Nut
counter clockwise at a rate of 10 rotations per
minute according to ASTM Standards for release rate
of 1/2” per minute.

If recommended, re-round the pipe according
to instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Mark the location to avoid a future squeeze
at the same location.
