4. Measuring
Attention!
The function test (see 3) has to be performed successfully.
To measure voltage proceed as follow:
• Connect the red clamp secure to ground potential (e.g. equipotential bonding bar, fixed ball points).
• Place the adapterbox outside the hazardous area, so the testlines must not cross live plant components.
• Connect a oscilloscope with ≥ 1 MΩ input resistance to the red and black measurment socket.
Make sure, the oscilloscope is adjusted correctly.
• Hold the high voltage test probes only beneath its hexagonal limiting dics and connect both test
electrodes securely with the test points.
• The voltage is measured against ground / earth potential.
In the case of ungrounded voltages, this is not important.
The measurement result is displayed:
- for unearthed voltages with a
ratio from 1:1000
(e.g. measured voltag of 1000 V comply 1 V display on an oscilloscope)
- for earthed voltages with a
ratio from 1:500
Dual channel opperation
To test a second voltage use the second red measurment socket.
Application in moist environments
The Test-Unit OSHS5 is only approved for indoor installations.
The equipment is not approved for workings in wet or damp environments.
