General use and navigation
Power on and volume in handset and speaker
The VHF radio has a dual-function on/off knob for power on/off
and volume control.
To power on the VHF radio press the on/off knob.
To power off the VHF radio, press and hold the on/off knob and
follow the instructions in the display.
To adjust the speaker volume, turn the volume knob (clockwise = louder,
counter clockwise = softer, until muted). When muted,
is shown in the
display.
To adjust the volume of the handset earpiece see
Radio setup
on page 19.
Working channel and changing settings
Use the
selector knob
to browse and select:

working channel
use the selector knob or enter
the channel number using the keypad. You can change channels whenever
the channel designator is displayed.

A single, short press on the
16/C
key always brings you to
channel 16
