B - PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
B1 - PACK CONTENTS
C - ABOUT THE THOMBOX CONNECTED HOME CONCEPT
The Thombox is a home automation unit which connects to your ADSL modem (Freebox,
Livebox, etc.) and enables you to manage your home security from any location as if you
were using the actual alarm control unit at home or remotely. The system also allows you to
control your comfort accessories (lighting, etc.), openers (shutter motors, garage doors, etc.)
and manage your energy use (heating and electricity consumption) with just a few clicks on
a computer, touchscreen tablet or smartphone, from anywhere in the world with an internet
connection.
To enable the above and be able to create scenes (action sequences) which will simplify your
day-to-day life, you need to register your Thombox (only when you first install it), and pair your
ARW technology compatible accessories with it.
The Thombox is completely modular and there is no limit to the number of accessories it can
control.

D2 - ATTACHING THE ANTENNA
The antenna provided allows the Thombox to communicate with accessories compatible with
ARW technology. It must be in place for the Thombox to work. For optimal range, the antenna
must be positioned vertically.
Warning: The antenna should not be screwed in with excessive force to prevent damage to
the antenna connector.
D3 - CONNECTIONS
Connect the Ethernet cable (RJ45) between your ADSL box and your Thombox then connect
the mains. Your Thombox will start automatically. Once the LED becomes steady, the Internet
connection is established and you can begin to activate your Thombox (only required on first
installation).

1
Power supply/wired connection/update LED indicator. During normal operation, the
LED shows a steady green light. If it is flashing green, a problem with the wired Internet
connection has been detected.
2
Power supply/3G connection/update LED indicator. During normal operation, the
LED is off. If it is flashing green, a connection to the mobile network is currently being
established (requires a data SIM card - not included - to be inserted into the 3G key
on the battery module). If the LED shows a steady green light, the 3G connection has
been established and is operational.

A - SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
A1 - OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
The Thombox and the accessories provided are designed for indoor use only, apart from the
external siren.
• Install the Thombox somewhere that it can be connected to the Internet via a high-speed
wired connection (512 kbit per second minimum, modem or router with at least one
available Ethernet port).
• When drilling, ensure that you do not damage hidden pipes or electric cables.
• The electrical installation must meet current standards and should be performed by a
qualified person.
• Do not expose the Thombox or its accessories to direct sunlight.
• Do not install the Thombox in locations with high humidity and/or extreme temperatures, or
where there is a risk that the equipment may be exposed to dust.
• Do not install the Thombox in cold locations or locations subject to large temperature
fluctuations.
• Never obstruct the Thombox's ventilation holes.
• Never cover the device.
• Do not daisy-chain extension cords and/or multi-socket adapters.
• Do not install near acidic chemicals, ammonia or sources of toxic gasses.
• Do not install in explosive environments or near volatile or inflammable products.
• Never put objects containing water on top of the device.
• Make sure that the device and its power supply are well ventilated.
• Test the smoke detector once a week by pressing the TEST button.
• A smoke detector does not prevent fires.
• Prepare an evacuation plan for the building beforehand.
• Effective protection will probably require several smoke detectors.
•
WARNING:
the detector included in this kit does not detect heat, gas or flames.
• This product emits an audible signal when it detects smoke. It is therefore totally stand-
alone. It also has a radio function which allows it to warn the Thombox provided.
• The battery module's USB port is designed only for inserting the 3G key supplied. We
strongly recommend against using it for any other purpose.
• The battery module is intended as a backup power supply for the Thombox and is designed
to provide access to the mobile network in the case of a power cut or network outage. To
retain an Internet connection, a data-type SIM card (not included) is required.
• The cameras must not be installed where the lens filter may be vulnerable to scratching and
dirt.
• The camera is not designed for outside installation and should not be installed in locations
that are subject to extremes of humidity or temperature.
• Do not expose the camera lens to direct sunlight or any reflected light source.
• Do not unscrew the camera lens completely.
• The installation and use of the camera must comply with local laws.
A2 - SERVICING AND CLEANING
• Always unplug the product from the mains before carrying out any maintenance.
• Never use abrasive or corrosive substances to clean the products.
• Use a soft, dry cloth.
• Never use an aerosol to spray the product as this may damage the internal workings.
• Stop using the smoke detector once the battery is spent, which is approximately 10 years
in normal operation.
• To clean the smoke detector, remove it from its mounting bracket by turning it anti-clockwise
and clean it with the vacuum hose, vacuuming near the openings located around the edge
of the smoke detector.
• Once you have finished cleaning the smoke detector, perform a TEST using the button
located on the side of the detector.
A3 - RECYCLING
Disposing of used batteries in the household waste is strictly forbidden. Batteries/
accumulators containing harmful substances are marked with symbols (shown
opposite) which indicate that it is forbidden to discard them in the household
waste. The corresponding heavy metal designations are as follows: Cd = cadmium,
Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can dispose of these batteries/accumulators at
local recycling amenities (centres for sorting recyclable materials) which are required to accept
them. Keep batteries/button cells/accumulators out of reach of children and store them in a
safe place not accessible to them as they could be swallowed by children or domestic animals.
May be fatal if swallowed.
In the event that a battery is swallowed, consult a doctor or go to A&E immediately. Never
short-circuit the batteries, and do not burn or recharge them as they may explode!
This logo denotes that devices which are no longer in use must not be disposed of
as household waste as they are likely to contain hazardous substances which are
dangerous to both health and the environment. Return the equipment to your local
distributor or use the recycling collection service provided by your local council.
