OPERATION
These units c/w multiple compressors and
independent refrigeration circuits. (4
compressors and 4 circuits for a KAC-
720.)
If the demand requires more than one
compressor to operate, a time delay relay
prevents them from starting at the same
time.
These units must be connected to a
multiple stage thermostat for partial
loading conditions.
However, the water flow across the water-cooled condenser & the airflow across the unit will not
modulate.
PULLEY ADJUSTMENT
If for any reason, adjustment on the pulley
is required, raising or lowering the tilt base
can be done. To tighten the belts, you must
lower the nuts under the tilt base and then
lower the top nuts until the proper tension
is reached. Raise lower nuts to re-tighten
tilt base.
To relieve tension in the belts, start by
raising the top nuts until desired tension is
reached and then raise bottom nuts of the
tilt base to re-tighten tilt.
REFRIGERANT REVERSING VALVE
(KHP unit only)
Each refrigeration circuit consists of a
refrigerant reversing valve. The reversing
valves are installed on the high-pressure
line (discharge) of each circuit. The
reversing valve is controlled by a solenoid
that moves a piston from a de-energized
position (heat pump mode) to an energized
position (cooling mode). The heat pump
thermostat controls the reversing valve.
These valves are not adjustable
.
