Connecting the Masterlink hardware Module to a Thermomax Datalogger

Using the 1 meter Data Download cable, which is supplied with the
Masterlink Hardware Module, insert the plug with the black marker, into the
top left hand corner of the Masterlink Module.

The other end of the Data Download cable is inserted into the Shielded
Eight-Way Socket of the Thermomax Datalogging unit.
Warning !!, all old data stored on the Masterlink Hardware Module will be
erased each time a data transfer is initiated from the Thermomax unit.
Transferring data does not erase the datalogger’s internal databank.

Press the
key on the Thermomax Datalogger unit to select a data
transfer.

Then press the
key activate the data transfer. This operation will
transfer the entire contents of the Databank to Masterlink Hardware module.
The module will automatically detect the type of datalogger to which it is
connected, and will transfer this information to the PC when the module is
connected to a PC using the Thermomax Masterlink Software.

The duration of the transfer is proportional to the amount of data which
had been stored to the datalogger’s internal databank. When the data
transfer is complete the datalogger will display a message “TRANSFER
COMPLETE”, “PRESS ANY KEY”. The data has now been transferred.

Using the 5 meter PC Data Upload cable, supplied with the Thermomax
Masterlink Software, insert the Shielded 8-Way plug into the top right
hand corner of the Masterlink Module (as shown above).
Note: The 1m download cable must be removed from the Masterlink
Hardware module before upload commences.

Insert the 9- Way D-Type connector into any free Serial Port connection
at the back of your P.C. (Com1 to Com4 may be used.)
The Masterlink Software will transfer the entire contents of the databank to
the PC, the duration of the transfer is proportional to the amount of data
which had been stored to the masterlink hardware. For details on the
operation of the Masterlink Software please read the software manual
included with the Masterlink Software.
