Overview of the Workspace

Acquire and Analyze
Once you have collected a mosaic, set the parameters for your data acquisition and then
collect and analyze the data. Your settings and techniques depend on the type of analysis you
are performing.
Report
After collecting and analyzing your data, generate a customizable report with chemical images,
spectra, and information on acquisition settings. You can also export images and raw data for
further analysis in other applications.
Overview of the Workspace
In the OMNICxi Raman Imaging software, you will use two primary windows for collecting
and analyzing data:
• Use the OMNICxi Acquisition Window to view your sample and collect data.
• Use the OMNICxi Analysis Window to view analysis results and explore the sample in
depth.
For the best experience, use two monitors to view both windows at once, allowing you to view
a live image of your sample while you perform your analysis.
The secondary windows for 3D analysis and terrain mapping can be used to explore 3D
sample data and to view 3D visualizations of the sample’s surface topography.
This section describes all of the tools and features in the Acquisition, Analysis, 3D Analysis,
and Terrain windows.
OMNICxi Acquisition Window
This section covers all of the features and controls available in the Acquisition window, which
can be used to:
• View a large area of the sample surface at any zoom level (see Video mode )
• Quickly collect and view spectra collected at selected locations on a sample (see Live
Spectrum Mode )
• Acquire a preview chemical image (see Image Regions Mode or Image Cross Section
Mode )
• Perform real-time acquisition of multiple regions on the sample surface (X, Y plane) (see
Image Regions Mode )
• Perform real-time collection of a sample cross-section (Y, Z plane) (see Image Regions
Mode )
