If left on, the hood switches to OFF mode after ten
hours unless the user takes action; this will turn off all
functions.
Sound function
A 'beep' can be heard every time the user
executes an action via the keypad or remote
control (optional).
MAINTENANCE
! Make sure that the hood is turned off prior to cleaning
or maintenance.
Cleaning the hood
WHEN TO CLEAN: clean at least once every other
month to avoid fire hazards.
EXTERNAL CLEANING: use a damp cloth wrung
out in lukewarm water and a non-abrasive
cleaning agent (if the hood is painted). If hoods
are made from steel, copper or brass, use
products specifically for these.
INTERNAL CLEANING: use a cloth (or a brush)
dipped in methylated spirit.
AVOID THE FOLLOWING: do not use abrasive or
corrosive products (e.g. steel wool cloths, brushes that
are too stiff, highly abrasive cleaning agents, etc.).
Cleaning the grease filter
WHEN TO CLEAN: clean at least once every other
month to avoid fire hazards, depending on usage.
HOW TO CLEAN FILTERS: Wash by hand, or in a
dishwasher, using a non-abrasive cleaning agent. The
filters may become discoloured if they are cleaned in a
dishwasher, but this will not affect their function in any
way.
Carbon filter maintenance
Refer to the instructions supplied with the Carbon filter.
As a rough guide, clean every other month.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If something is not working correctly, try the steps below first before
calling for technical assistance:
• Hood is not working
Possible cause (1): The power cord is plugged in or has not been
connected correctly. Solution: The installation technician did not connect
the hood correctly. Call an electrician or an installation technician.
Possible cause (2): No fan speed selected. Solution:
Select a fan speed on the control panel.
If the cover stops during regular operation, check whether the unit is
connected to the power supply and that the multi pole circuit breaker is
activated.
• The hood is not working correctly
Possible cause: The filters/partitions may
be soiled. Solution: Make sure that the
filter is clean.
Hoods with duct systems and hoods with an external motor
Possible cause (1): The duct system does not meet requirements. If the
duct is longer than is required by the manufacturer, the hood's function
may not be optimal. If the duct's cross-section is too small or the system
has too many bends, this may slow down the flow of air.
During installation of the discharge channel, you must follow the official
instructions from the competent authorities (e.g. outgoing air cannot be
discharged into the duct already in use as part of a central heating
system or thermosiphon-type systems, etc.) The room has air holes.
Contact your installation engineer.
Possible cause (2): The duct is clogged up.
Solution: Check to make sure that nothing is blocking the ventilation duct
(e.g. birds' nests or bends).
Hoods with filters
Possible cause: the carbon filter is soaked
through. Solution: replace the carbon filter.
• The remote control is not working (if included)
Possible cause (1): no connection between the remote control and hood.
Solution: Make sure that the control keys on the hood are working correctly.
Turn off the power to the hood via the switch, then reconnect. Follow the
instructions supplied with the remote control when connecting the
remote control with the hood.
Possible cause (2): the old battery in the remote control.
Solution: Replace the battery.
Clean the drainage tray.
The device is fitted with an oil tray, which collects
the residual oil and grease that builds up on the
filters protecting against fat and any liquid that has
leaked out during preparation. Remove the drawer
holding this in its horizontal position and clean with
a non-abrasive cleaning agent. Cleaning should be
carried out periodically.
