6.5. F-PLN SEQUENCING
F-PLN leg switching is normally automatic.
However in certain conditions, pilot action is required to sequence the
F-PLN.
This may occur, for example, when:
−
A WPT is by-passed (radar vector, weather avoidance, etc.),
−
A HOLD is not cancelled,
−
The landing RWY or STAR or part of the STAR are changed.
If HDG (or TRK) mode is selected, as for radar vectoring, and the
track deviates by more than 5 NM from the TO WPT, the F-PLN will not
switch to the next leg when passing abeam this WPT. The F-PLN will no
longer be in sequence with the actual position.
Ex: “20 miles before BIG, turn R hdg 350”
BIG is by-passed but is still shown as the TO WPT.
