3. Important information

• Please note that the actual alarm and light effect require sepa-

rate power supplies:
Digital alarm  => 2 x LR44 button cells (included)
Light effect 

=> Mains adapter or 4 x 1.5V AAA batteries 

(not included)

• When using the alarm clock for the first time, you have to

remove the button cells’ breaker strips.

• If the segment display gets weaker, or the segments are no

longer displayed, the button cells need to be replaced.

• To use the light effect, please utilize a mains adapter or 4 x 1.5V

AAA batteries 

4. Getting started
4.1 Alarm clock

• Open the battery compartment at the backside of the instru-

ment and then the small cell battery door. 

• Remove the battery safety strip of the cell batteries and replace

the battery doors. 

• All LCD segments will light up for a few seconds.
• The unit is now ready to use.

4.2 Light effects 

• To use the light effect, please utilize a mains adapter or 4 x 1.5V

AAA batteries (both not included).

• Insert the adapter into the jack. Connect the power adapter to a

wall socket. The unit is now ready to use. 

Important!

Make sure that your household voltage is 230V! Other-

wise your clock may be damaged.

5. Operation
5.1 Manual setting of clock and calendar 

• Press SET button.
• The hour digit is flashing. Press UP or DOWN button to adjust

hours. 

• Confirm with SET button.
• The setting sequence is shown as follows: Minutes, year, month

and date. Adjust with UP or DOWN button.

• Press and hold UP or DOWN button, you will enter fast mode.
• Confirm with SET button.
• The day of week will be calculated automatically after setting

date.

• Press UP button to choose 12 HR (PM appears on the display

after 12 h) or 24 HR system.

• The instrument will quit automatically the setting mode, if there

is no button used within 60 seconds.

5.2 Manual setting of alarm clock

• To enter alarm mode, press AL button in normal mode.
• Press SET button.
• The hour digit is flashing. 
• Press UP or DOWN button to adjust hours. 
• Confirm with SET button.
• The setting sequence is shown as follows: Minutes, the snooze

interval from 1 minute to 60 and alarm sound (1-8). Press UP or
DOWN button to adjust.

• Hold and press UP or DOWN button for a fast count. 
• Confirm with SET button.
• Press DOWN button to activate the alarm.

• The alarm is activated.
• Press DOWN button again and the snooze function is activated.
• Zz appears on the display.

• Press AL button to return to normal mode. 
• Once the alarm starts to ring, the clock will flash scrolling

through all 7 colours.

• Press any button to stop the alarm.
• The snooze symbol Zz appears on the display when the snooze

function is activated. The alarm will be interrupted for the set
time. 

• To stop the alarm completely, press at first the AL button and

than the DOWN button.

• The symbols disappear on the display.
• Press AL button again to return to normal mode.

6. Lighting

• To use the light effect, please utilize a mains adapter or 4 x 1.5V

AAA batteries. If the batteries are used as the main power source
a continuous operation of the light function will exhaust the
batteries in a few days.

• You can choose 2 light settings by using the LIGHTING MODE

switch.
1. Position ON or DEMO: Continuous operation and permanent 

colour change (7 colours)

2.  Position OFF: Coloured light for 20 seconds when tapping the

top (PRESS)

7. Temperature display

• Press DOWN button to change between °C (Celsius) or °F

(Fahrenheit) as temperature unit.

8. Battery replacement

• If the segment display gets weaker, or the segments are no

longer displayed, the button cells (2 x LR44) need to be replaced.
Observe correct polarity (-pole shows in the direction of the dis-
play).

• Replace the batteries (4 x 1,5 V AAA) when the light becomes

weak when not mains operated. 

• Use alkaline batteries only. Low batteries should be changed

soon to avoid the damage resulting from a leaking battery. Bat-
teries contain harmful acids. Wear protective glasses and gloves
when handling with leaked batteries.

Attention: 

Please do not dispose of old electronic devices and empty batteries
in household waste. To protect the environment, take them to
your retail store or to appropriate collection sites according to
national or local regulations.

9. Maintenance

• Keep the instrument in a dry place.
• Do not expose the instrument to extreme temperatures, vibra-

tion or shock. 

• Clean it with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring

agents. 

• Please reset the instrument and follow the battery installation

procedure if the instrument does not work properly. Change the
batteries.

10. Intended usage, exclusion of warranty, safety information

• The product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children.
• The product is not to be used for medical purpose or for public

information, but is determined for home use only.

• The specifications of this product may change without prior

notice.

• No part of this manual may be reproduced without written con-

sent of TFA Dostmann.

• Improper use or unauthorized opening of housing will mean the

loss of warranty.
