Important!
Keep the handle frame of the machine close to
your body at all times. The machine can strike
backwards, if the auger gets jammed during
drilling.
The first 10 working hours, the machine should
only run by moderate speed. The drill should not
run at highest speed without load.
Maintenance
Carburettor:
After every 50 working hours max
and min. revolutions shall be tested and the float
chamber shall be cleaned. Inspect the idle
function and if necessary adjust the idling screw
either clockwise or anti-clockwise. When idling the
clutch is declutched and the drill doesn’t turn.
Spark plug:
After every 25 working hours the
sparking plug shall be carefully cleaned. Also
inspect electrode distance, which can be 0,5 mm.
Air filter:
After every 25 working hours the filter
and net filter shall be carefully cleaned with
gasoline. Dry and resemble the filters. The
sponge filter shall be wetted with oil. If it is very
dusty this shall be done every time you have used
the earth auger.
Screws and bolts:
After every 25 working hours
these shall be tightened.
Muffler:
Inspect the muffler after every 50 working
hours. Clean and remove the exhaust. Don’t let
dust and exhaust get into the cylinder house.
Reduction gearbox:
After every 50 working
hours the grease shall be replaced.
1. Remove the screws at the gear box and open
it
2. Remove the surplus lubrication and replace
with new grease. Use grease which is
appropriate for 120 to 170 °C. We recommend
Multifak grease. Art. no. 90306500.
3. Close the gear box with screws and tighten
the screws.
The auger:
Inspect the drill and edge on a regular
basis.
Storage
If you don’t need to use the earth auger for a
longer period, take the following precautions.
•
Carefully clean the machine and lubricate
auger bit with oil.
•
Store the machine in a dry place protected
against dust, moist and frost.
•
Empty the fuel tank and start the engine. Let
the engine idle until empty of gasoline.
•
Remove the sparking plug and pour one
teaspoon oil into the cylinder housing. Pull in
the starting cord in order to spread the oil in
the cylinder. Reinstall the spark plug.
•
Carefully clean the machine and lubricate the
not-painted metal parts in oil.
Troubleshoot
In case you can’t start, loose speed or the engine
suddenly stops you shall check the following:
•
Is the tank filled with gasoline.
•
Is the gasoline supply closed or stopped.
•
Is the gasoline hose blocked or removed.
•
Is there water in the tank. If so the whole
system shall be cleaned.
•
Is the valve on the gasoline cover blocked.
•
Is the nozzle blocked.
•
Is the air filter blocked.
•
Is the sparking plug dirty or has the electrode
distance changed.
•
Is the sparking plug cable broken or removed.
•
Is the stop lock button cable broken or
removed.
If your problem is not described above, please
contact an approved service centre or Texas A/S.
