As
shows, the TPS23523 EVM can also be configured to implement a more sophisticated
architecture. In this architecture there is a common 48-V input that is used to power both the load on the
board and the mid plane. The ORing and current monitoring is performed on the 48-V input. Then the hot-
swap function is performed on just the load present on the board. The remaining current powers the mid
plane, which has its own plug-in cards with hot swap on them.
