3 LCD , sockets can be checked for
correct connection*, or for wiring errors.
The connection status is indicated by the LEDs and can be quickly
and clearly determined in the printed table.
To check to see whether an impermissible, high contact voltage is
applied at the protective earth connection, the finger contact must
be touched. if the LC display thereby illuminates, there is an error.
* In many international standards it is specified that the phase at a
socket must be applied at the right connection (viewed from the
front).
In Germany, there is no clear regulation for this, because the
Schuko plug is not protected against polarity reversal.
In order to obtain a correct indication, the phase must be applied to
the right. Thus, the instrument may have to be rotated through 180°
when checking a Schuko socket (depending on the wiring).
