There is a clamp at the
base of the filter cage.
Rotate this clamp to
the left to loosen it
and then remove the
clamp as shown.
Now separate the cyclone tube from the filter cage.
Wash the filter cage, the cyclone tube and the clamp under running
water Make sure any adhered particles are freed.
Tap the SMS filter on the edge of a bin to shake off any excess dust.
Brush out the SMS filter with a soft brush. If the filter is soiled, wash it
under running water until it is thoroughly clean.
Allow all parts of the filter to dry and then reassemble the filter and re
insert it into the Dust Cup. Now replace the Dust Cup in the cleaner.
NEVER replace a filter if it is damp.
Cleaning the Inlet and Motor Filter
Clean these two filters often. Failure to clean the filters regularly will
reduce the cleaner efficiency and may shorten its lifespan.
The Inlet Filter
is at the rear of the inside compartment behind the
Dust Cup. Remove the Dust Cup and pull the filter out.
Brush the inlet cavity well. This will help keep the internal airways clean
and maintain cleaner performance.
The Motor Filter
is at the rear of the cleaner.
Remove the filter cage. Brush
out the cavity behind the
cage.
This will maintain the perfor-
mance of the cleaner.
Remove the motor filter from
the cage.
Wash both filters under running
water until the water runs clear.
Allow the filters to dry.
Re-insert the motor filter into
the filter cage. and replace both
filters into the cleaner.
NEVER replace a filter if it is
damp.
Cleaning and Storage
Switch the cleaner off and unplug from the mains.
Empty the dust and clean all filters. Wipe the cleaner body with a damp
cloth and dry thoroughly. Do NOT allow water or liquids to penetrate
the vacuum cleaner. This could be dangerous.
Make sure that the extension tube and the accessories are free from
dirt, debris and any obstructions.
Store the cleaner safely out of the reach of children and pets.
The cleaner can be stored with the hose and accessories disconnected
and separately stored. Alternatively, it may be stored in the normal po-
sition with the tube and floor brush parked on the rear hook (see P. 4).
