SETTING THE CORRECT OIL TEMPERATURE FOR THE FOOD

Rotate the dial on the control panel to set the
temperature  according  to  your  recipe. The
frying guide on Page xx will assist you.

INSERTING THE FRYING BASKET

Hold the basket by the handle.
Hook the basket over the edge
of the fryer as shown to lift the
basket clear of the oil.
This is the

 raised position

 and

is used to fill and remove food
from the basket, inspect food
during  cooking  and  to  drain
excess oil from the food after
frying.

CONNECTING THE POWER

Plug the fryer into the mains point and switch on the power.
The RED power light will come on showing the fryer is operational. After about 10 minutes, the oil
has reached the correct temperature and the GREEN “ready” light  will come on . The appliance is
now ready for use.

Always have the basket in the raised position when filling it with food.

•

Place the food to be cooked (which should be as dry as possible) in the basket.

•

Do not overfill the basket.

•

Lower the filled basket into the oil Take

•

care not to splash any oil.
Cook  the  food  for  the  required  time

•

depending  on  the  recipe. The  Frying
guide on Page 8 will help you.

COOKING HOME-BATTERED FOODS

This alternative method requires extreme care.

If you place wet batter in the basket prior to cooking, the food may stick. Coat the food in batter
and leave it to drain slightly to remove any excess.

Ensure the correct cooking temperature has been reached. Lower the EMPTY basket into

•

the oil. Open the lid of the fryer. Using a pair of tongs, slowly lower the coated food care-
fully into the hot oil - this allows the batter to solidify and prevents it sticking to the mesh
of the basket.
Allow the food to cook as normal.

•

USING THE LID

The basket may be covered or uncovered during
cooking. We  recommend  that  the  fryer  is  used
with the basket uncovered as this will lessen the
chance  of  an  accident.    During  the  preheating
process, when the basket is not in the fryer the lid
may be used to cover the fryer if required.
Always hold the lid by the handle when attaching
or removing it.
