Risk of damage!
The bolts can loosen slowly
during operation and affect the
grill stability.
– Check whether the bolts are tight prior
to each use. If necessary, tighten all of
the bolts again to ensure the grill
stands stable.
• Place the grill on an even, sturdy
surface outdoors before use.
• Prior to first use, wash the cooking
grate with warm soapy water.
• Conditioning
Before you use the grill for the first
time, it needs to be conditioned
(pre-fired) for at least 30 minutes at a
temperature of 100 - 200°C.
This is necessary to prepare the inside
of the grill for food preparation and to
fire in the heat-resistant paint on the
outside.
Burning hazard!
The grill, charcoal and the food
being grilled become very hot
during use. Any contact can
result in serious burns.
– Keep sufficient distance from hot parts
since any contact can lead to severe
burns.
– Always wear oven or barbecue gloves
when grilling.
– Use only long-handled utensils with
heat-resistant grips.
– Do not wear any clothing with wide
sleeves.
– Use only dry lighters or special fluid
lighters compliant with EN 1860-3 as
firelighters.
1. Place 2-3 solid firelighters in the
middle of fire bowlconta (5). Pay atten-
tion to the manufacturer’s instructions
on the packaging. Light the firelighters
using a match.
2. Layer
maximum 1 kg
of charcoal
around the firelighters. (When using
the device as a fireplace, build a
pyramid from small firewood sections,
and place dry firelighters in the
pyramid. Ignite the firelighter. When
the small firewood pieces have caught
enough fire, you can place some
bigger pieces of firewood on them.)
3. Prior to first use, the grill must be
pre-fired – refer to the section Before
Grilling.
4. As soon as the charcoal is glowing,
distribute it evenly in fire bowl (5). To
do this, use a suitable fireproof tool
with a long, fireproof handle.
5. Place cooking grate (3) on fire bowl
(6).
6. Clamp handle (4) on the cooking grate.
When the grill is hot, touch the handle
with barbecue gloves only.
7. Place the food to be grilled on the
grate only when the charcoal is
covered with a bright layer of ash.
8. Check the food being grilled from time
to time and turn it over. Do not let the
food get too dark.
