risks associated with using the grill.
–
Perform all assembly steps carefully and follow
the order indicated.
• Install all parts as shown in figures A–V.

locked into place.
• Many screws have already been prefitted. If
necessary, loosen them slightly before assembly.

Setting up the grill
CAUTION
Risk of damage!
During use, the screwed connections may
gradually become loose and reduce the
stability of the grill.
–
Each time before you use the charcoal
grill, check to make sure that the screwed
connections are secure. If applicable, tighten
all screws again to guarantee a stable
position.
• Before use, place the charcoal grill on a flat, solid
base
located outdoors
.
Before grilling for the first time
Cleaning the grilling grates
• Before first use, wash the grilling grates and the
warming grate with warm dishwater.
Burning in the product
• Before barbecuing for the first time, the charcoal grill
must be burnt in at a temperature of 100–200 °C for
at least 1–2 hours. Attention: The temperature must not
exceed 260 °C when burning in the grill!
The grill must be burnt in to prepare the inside of the
grill for barbecuing and also to burn in the heat-resistant
paint.
• Do not completely close the hood when burning in the
grill. You may only completely close the hood for a
few minutes at the end.
Operation
WARNING
Burn hazard!
The charcoal grill, the charcoal in it as well
as the food become very hot when in use;
any contact with them may result in very
severe burns.
–
Maintain a safe distance to hot parts as any
contact with them could result in very severe
burns.
–
Always wear barbecuing or kitchen gloves for
barbecuing.
–
Only use long barbecue utensils with heat-
resistant handles.
–
Do not wear any clothing with wide sleeves.
–
Only use a dry firelight or special lighter fluid
for grills in accordance with EN 1860-3 to
light the grill.
1. Open the hood (
3)
and remove the grilling grate (
28)
.
2. Place 2–3 solid firelighters in the middle of the
charcoal grate. Observe the manufacturer notes on the
packaging.
Use a match to ignite the firelighters.
3. Create a layer of no more than 1.35 kg of charcoal
around the firelighters.
4. The charcoal grill must be burnt in for at least
1–2 hours before first use (see section “Burning in the
product”).
5. As soon as the charcoal has burnt down so that there
is only ember left, spread it evenly on the charcoal
grate
(27)
. Use a suitable, fireproof tool with a long,
fireproof handle for this.
6. Put the grilling grates in place and use the charcoal
grate crank
(14)
to set the charcoal grate to the
desired height.
7. Only put the food you would like to cook on the
barbecue once the charcoal is coated with light grey
ash. You can place a plate with food on the side rack
(5)
.
You can hang barbecue utensils, barbecue gloves and
other accessories on the hooks under the side rack.
8. Depending on the type of food you are cooking,
you can leave the hood open or close it. If the food
needs a particularly long time to cook, we recommend
closing the hood.
The thermometer in the hood indicates the temperature
in the cooking chamber. Make sure that the
temperature is not too high for the food you intend to
prepare.
