Note:
Outlet hose/piping should not reach the
bottom of the funnel fitting.
•
Install the wye type strainer before the steam
control valve.
•
Install the steam trap per the instructions that
ship with the shipped loose item.
•
Humidifier connections are shown in Figure
•
Connect the steam control valve to the
customer terminal board using the hot water/
steam heating valve output (HTGV-O) at
terminal W32. See Figure 41.
Ductwork
Ductwork should be designed and sized according
to the methods in the Air Conditioning Contractors
of America’s (ACCA) Manual Q.
A closed return duct system is recommended.
This type of return duct system ensures proper air
change-out throughout the interior space. This does
not preclude use of economizers or outdoor fresh
air intakes.
CAUTION
Elbows, discharge damper, and other abrupt flow
area changes installed directly at the fan outlet will
cause system losses. These losses must be taken
into account during the design phase and must be
added to any field measurements.
The supply and return air duct connections at the
unit should be made with flexible joints to minimize
noise. When the unit is equipped with an exhaust
fan assembly or a return fan assembly, the return
duct should have a 90° elbow before opening to the
building space to decrease noise.
It is vital that supply and return ductwork be
designed and sized for the CFM and static pressure
requirements of the HVAC system. They should
NOT be sized to match the dimensions of the duct
connections at the unit.
