Connect the Local Console to the 8820 MSR
The 8820 MSR console port provides access to the Tellabs® Multi-service Operating System
(OS), which is the command line interface (CLI). Use the modular, null-modem (crossover)
cable and DB9-to-RJ45 connector adapters to connect the local console to the serial console
port of the system. The console connector pinouts are given in

After making this connection, use HyperTerminal or an equivalent program to set the
console’s communication (COM) port parameters as shown in
Table 4-1
.
